Shamanic Medicine Drum Making Workshop

Would you like to follow the wise rhythm of your heart? Would you like to become an active dreamer and creator of healing realities?

We warmly invite you to build your own shamanic drum!

Every drum begins in silence

From a solid palisander wood frame, carefully selected goatskin and the work of your own hands, your personal shamanic drum will gradually come to life over the course of this weekend.

We guide you step by step through the entire building process. You will stretch and shape your drum, make your own drum beater, and have the opportunity to incorporate personal feathers, stones, jewellery or other meaningful elements.

The drum-making process is accompanied by ritual moments and times of stillness. Once your drum is complete, you will be introduced to some basic techniques and rhythms of shamanic drumming. We drum together, bring sound and movement together in the shamanic dance Baksı Dansı, and experience that special moment when your drum discovers its own voice.

Eli holds the ritual space and guides you through the Karak Akuyak Initiation, the seed of the Earthkeepers.

The weekend workshop includes:

• The workshop itself, with a flexible schedule adapted to the rhythm and pace of the participants
• Carefully selected goatskin. We use goatskin exclusively because the animals are raised free-range
• A solid frame made of rosewood
• An inflatable rubber tube for tuning the drum
• Decorative materials for your drum, such as feathers, semi-precious stones, coloured threads and more
• Materials for your drum beater
•  You are also welcome to bring your own decorative elements for your drum or drum beater, such as personal feathers, stones or other meaningful objects
• Accommodation at Casa Ayni for the duration of the workshop
• Meals throughout the workshop

No previous craft skills or experience with shamanic work are required. The group is limited to a maximum of six participants.
